Squale's journey began in 1950 when Charles and Helene Von Büren, driven by their passion for diving, founded a watch factory in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. They focused on creating reliable timepieces for underwater adventures, a field that was still uncharted at the time.

In 1959, they registered the Squale brand and obtained their first patent for diving watch cases. Their innovative designs, like the iconic 2001 model with its hidden lugs and 'push to release' bezel, set new standards in dive watch technology.
