E.C. Andersson’s compact Cpt

E.C. Andersson launched the Cpt this week, a small round watch the Swedish brand calls an unexpected tool watch. It looks closer to a dress watch, but the specs say otherwise: 100m water resistance, a triple-sealed screw-down crown and a box sapphire crystal. The case is 35mm with a 43mm lug to lug and 10.4mm thick, and the thin bezel leaves a 30.3mm dial, so it reads bigger than it is. Inside is a Miyota 9039-based automatic that E.C. Andersson regulates in house to -1/+6 seconds a day.

Vaer, Topo Designs and Worn & Wound also brought back the Solar Hiker, their three-brand collaboration from last year. The 2026 version grows from 38 to 39mm and comes in black or deep blue, both with a ceramic bezel. The bezel is split: a 12-hour scale on the insert for a second time zone and elapsed minutes on the inner steel ring. The caseback is engraved with the sun’s angles for golden hour, sunset and the three stages of twilight.
