Chronoscout Crawler
Chronoscout tracks the online stores of independent watch brands so collectors get alerts when a watch is released or restocked, and can see its price history. This page describes the crawler behind it and how to reach us.
How to Identify It
Every request carries a Web Bot Auth signature (HTTP Message Signatures, Ed25519). Signatures are the reliable identifier, so do not rely on the user agent or IP alone.
- User agent:
Chronoscout/1.0 (+https://chronoscout.co/en/bot/) - Signature-Agent:
https://chronoscout.co - Public key directory: https://chronoscout.co/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory
- Source IPs:
185.229.90.63, 2001:1680:101:24a::/64
What It Fetches
Only public product data: product JSON (such as /products.json and /products/<handle>.js), product pages and collection pages.
It never touches cart, checkout, account, login or search endpoints, and it never places orders or submits forms.
It follows each store's robots.txt: rules for User-agent Chronoscout (or * if there are none) decide which paths it reads, and Crawl-delay (up to 20 seconds) sets the minimum time between its requests.
Crawl Rate
At least 1.2 seconds between requests to the same store, and at most about two requests per second across all stores combined.
It backs off automatically on 429 and 503 responses and honors Retry-After.
How the Data Is Used
We show factual product information (name, price, availability and images) on chronoscout.co and in collector alerts, always linking back to the brand's own store. We do not resell raw data.
Opt Out or Contact
To limit or stop crawling, add rules for User-agent: Chronoscout to your robots.txt; the crawler picks up changes within 24 hours. You can also email info@chronoscout.co with your domain, for example if the crawler causes problems.
