The Chronoscout Digest: August 3 - 9

Xeric launched the Volta Double Retrograde this week and it's exactly the kind of playful weirdness the microbrand scene does best. Inspired by the futuristic speedometers of '80s and '90s car dashboards, both the hour and minute hands sweep along an arc like a needle, then snap instantly back to zero. It's more kinetic theater than timekeeping, packed into a wearable 36mm steel case. Seven colorways span Gray Red, Vintage Mint, Silver Blue, Silver Prism, Gunmetal Orange, Gold Black and Silver Black Red. Already a Kickstarter hit. Easy to see why.

Erebus expanded the Ascent 40 GMT with a Lapis Gilt variant, Isotope brought their Mercury Alchemy and Wolbrook revived the Skindiver II Professional. Fears added the Ultimus to the Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour, while BOLDR teamed up with FreakyFir on a limited Explorer II GMT.

Echo/Neutra launched the Averau Ceramic in Sand across both three-hand and chrono versions, Marloe introduced the Pacific and Söner closed out the week with the limited Nostalgia Commander.

Cheers,

Michel
