The Chronoscout Digest: July 27 - August 2

Mr Jones Watches dropped a limited edition simply called &#@%!? this week and it might be their most relatable one yet. Designed by Rocky Beeson, the London illustrator who also happens to be the brand's own printmaker, the watch replaces traditional hands with two metal ones reading "Slow as F***" and "Not as Slow". The theme is everyday impatience: slow laptops, traffic jams, meetings that could have been emails. Beeson describes her approach as "I see it, I hate it, I draw it". Quartz powered, limited to 300 pieces.

Formex brought a rich green Malachite dial to their new 41mm Essence FortyOne, the re-proportioned sweet-spot case sitting between the old 39 and 43 with a screw-down crown and the on-the-fly micro-adjust clasp. Horage went the playful route with the Autark Tourbillon Bubbles, Direnzo released the DRZ 02R in Gold and Mühle Glashütte brought a new 29er Big GMT. Gruppo Gamma launched their GENESIS line in six configurations across stainless and aged steel with dials ranging from forged carbon to crystallised titanium.
